Complete Electrical Insulation Services

Analytical & High-Voltage Testing

You need highly specialized lab equipment in order to test the various properties of insulation materials, as well as the expertise to operate those machines. Don’t place that burden on your team; instead, rely on a team of experienced engineers with years of analytical experience.

Analytical Testing

analytical testing

Using leading-edge technology, we can identify, examine, evaluate and compare your insulation materials. We perform tests on the chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties of materials to determine which will work best for your application. Some tests we can run include the following:

  • Differential Scanning Calorimeter
  • Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer
  • Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy
  • MTS Tensile
  • pH Meter
  • Gurley Densometer
  • Gurley Bending Resistance Tester
  • Contact Angle Meter
  • Muffle Furnace
  • Electronic Microscope

High-Voltage Testing

Develop more efficient designs for your insulation system with the help of our high-voltage lab. You can test multiple variables such as dissipation factor, voltage endurance, voltage breakdown, and partial discharge. Some tests we can run include:

  • Hipotronics Hipot Tester
  • Megohm Bridge
  • Capacitance Bridge
  • Dissipation Factor Testing

Solution Design:

Define Your Problem and Develop a Custom Solution

The components you use for insulation shouldn’t be good enough — they should meet your requirements exactly. Rather than choose a product out of a catalog, you can turn to us to help define the critical properties of your application and develop a product that satisfies those needs. This process is normally comprised of three steps:

Step 1: Discovery

Working with your engineering staff, we define your problem and discuss the feasibility of a partnership up front. This discovery phase may cover budgets, schedules, safety & environment, and assigned responsibilities for the duration of the project. We may also create a functional design specification at this stage.

Step 2: Review Data

We review drawings, specifications, market data, product data, possible alternatives, and special requests from your team. By working in collaboration with your team and by accounting for all the information available, we’ll devise and design an optimal solution that will address your specific application.

Step 3: Product & Test

The new product is produced in sufficient quantities to complete verification testing and possible FEMA studies during the quality planning phase. A final customer validation and acceptance would be made during application trials at the customer site before the project is closed out.
